As we all know the Mathematics plays an important role in the scoring of the students. It is primary subject for the students of Non-Medical stream. In mathematics a student can score 100% marks.

But for the score increase student should know about the proper syllabus as well as proper marking scheme. So the student can prepare properly.

Mathematics is taken as toughest as well as crucial subject. It needs proper preparation and proper time to study for the subject. At the time being students should know about the syllabus fore the examinations of the subjects for the academic year 2023-24.

Unit-I: Relations and Functions

Chapter 1. Relations and Functions

 In this chapter there are definitions of relations and types of relations: reflexive, symmetric, transitive and equivalence relations.

Next topic functions include different types of functions i.e. one to one and one to many many to one etc.

Chapter 2. Inverse Trigonometric Functions

In this chapter there is definition of inverse trigonometric functions, range, domain, principal value branch. Graphs of inverse trigonometric functions.

Unit-II: Algebra

Chapter 3. Matrices

 In this chapter students will get to know about the Concept of matrix, properties of matrices, as well as  types of matrices, zero and identity matrix, transpose of a matrix, symmetric and skew symmetric matrices.

In next topic they will read about the Operations on matrices: Addition and multiplication and multiplication with a scalar. Simple properties of addition, multiplication and scalar multiplication. Non commutatively of multiplication of matrices.

 Invertible matrices and proof of the uniqueness of inverse..

Chapter 4. Determinants

In this chapter you will study about determinant of a square matrix, minors, co-factors and applications of determinants in finding the area of a triangle.

Adjoin and inverse of a square matrix. Consistency,inconsistency and number of solutions of system of linear equations, solving system of linear equations in two or three variables.

Unit-III: Calculus

Chapter 5. Continuity and Differentiability

 The chapter Continuity and differentiability includes derivative of composite functions, chain rule, derivative of inverse trigonometric functions, and derivative of implicit functions.

Concept of exponential and logarithmic functions. Derivatives of logarithmic and exponential functions. Logarithmic differentiation, derivative of functions expressed in parametric forms. Second order derivatives.

Chapter 6. Applications of Derivatives

 The next chapter of this unit is Applications of derivatives. In this chapter there are some applications of derivative which includes rate of change of quantities, increasing/decreasing functions, maxima and minima.

Chapter 7. Integrals 

In Intergral chapter students will read about the Integration. Integrations is inverse process of differentiation.

It also include the integration through different types which can be Integration by substitution, by partial fractions and by parts, Evaluation of simple integrals of the following types and problems based on them.

Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Basic properties of definite integrals and evaluation of definite integrals.

Chapter 8. Applications of the Integrals

Along with the integrals they are study about the use of integrations in our life which are applications in finding the area under simple curves, especially lines, circles/ parabolas/ellipses.

Chapter 9. Differential Equations

Differential equations have different orders and degree in this chapter you will get to know about Definition, order and degree, general and particular solutions of a differential equation.1                                              

Unit-IV: Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry

Chapter 10. Vectors

IN this chapter students will read about Vectors and scalars, magnitude and direction of a vector. Direction cosines and direction ratios of a vector. Types of vectors, position vector of a point, negative of a vector, components of a vector, addition of vectors, multiplication of a vector by a scalar, position vector of a point dividing a line segment in a given ratio. Definition, Geometrical Interpretation, properties and application of scalar product of vectors, vector product of vectors.

Chapter 11. Three – dimensional Geometry

Three Dimensional Geometry includes direction cosines and direction ratios of a line joining two points. Cartesian equation and vector equation of a line, skew lines, shortest distance between two lines. Angle between two lines.

Unit-V: Linear Programming

Chapter 12 Linear Programming

In linear programming the introduction of linear programming, related terminology such as constraints, objective function, optimization, graphical method of solution for problems in two variables, feasible and infeasible regions, feasible and infeasible solutions, optimal feasible solutions.

Unit-VI: Probability

Chapter 13. Probability

Probability is the most important part of the mathematics. the probability of this class includes Conditional probability, multiplication theorem on probability, independent events, total probability, Byes’ theorem, Random variable and its probability distribution, mean of random variable.
